Warden Message-October 30, 2006
This warden message is being issued to inform U.S. citizens that there is a large demonstration planned for Thursday, November 2, 2006 in the center of Bishkek at the Ala-too Square. While the demonstration is planned for November 2, it may extend throughout the weekend or longer. Though the Embassy has no information that the demonstration will be violent, we remind American Citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. American Citizens are therefore urged to avoid areas where demonstrations may occur if possible, and to exercise caution if within the vicinity of one.
