January 18, 2012
The United States Government, through the USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project, held a photo exhibition “We Need Dialogue” to increase HIV and TB awareness on January 17, 10:00 a.m., at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Visual Arts.
The photo exhibition “We Need Dialogue” aims to highlight the work of non-governmental organizations working with most-at-risk of HIV and TB infection in the Kyrgyz Republic to reduce the spread of those deadly diseases. The photos show the everyday experience of at risk individuals interacting with NGO workers, health providers, and militia. It is a unique opportunity to see beneficiaries of HIV and TB prevention programs, the conditions of their lives, and experiences.
The USAID Dialogue on HIV and TB Project provides technical assistance, training, and direct outreach services to increase access to quality HIV and TB prevention and treatment services among most at-risk populations in pilot sites of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The program is implemented by a consortium of non-governmental organizations led by Population Services International (PSI) and includes Project HOPE, AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) and PF “Kazakh Union of people living with HIV/AIDS in RK”.
