The Consular Officer may acknowledge signatures on documents signed before a Consular Officer. If a document, signed by a person located in the United States, must be notarized in the Kyrgyz Republic, that document should first to be notarized in the U.S. and then to go through a series of certifications known as "chain authentication methods". This is due to the fact the Kyrgyz Republic is not a signatory to the Hague Convention of 1961.
American citizens may also execute affidavits or sworn statements.
