On June 20, 2008, the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic organized a seminar at the Hyatt for Kyrgyz businesspeople on how to do business with the USA. The seminar provided insights to Kyrgyz companies regarding how to conduct business with U.S. trading partners, as well as information on how to compete for contracts at Manas air base. The seminar also provided information on duty-free export opportunities for Kyrgyz exporters through the GSP program.
Over 140 representatives from local companies attended the seminar. Representatives of the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce and Defense as well as the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative gave presentations at the seminar, shared their thoughts, and answered questions raised by the participants.
For companies and individuals unable to attend the seminar, the U.S. Embassy is making available some of the presentations as well as photos of the event. Please contact the Embassy's commercial section at BishkekCommerce@state.gov or +996 312 551 241 ext. 4403 for more information about commercial opportunities with the United States.
