Doing Business with the USA

On September 10, 2007, the U.S. Embassy hosted the "Doing Business with the USA" seminar for Kyrgyz businesspeople.  More than 200 representatives of Kyrgyz companies attended the event.  Representatives of the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Agency for International Development provided insights into opportunities for trade, how to find U.S. business partners and how to compete for contracts with the U.S. government at Manas air base and in Afghanistan.  Many local firms also provided information on legal issues, finance and shipping relating to conducting trade with the United States.  The American Chamber of Commerce played a key role in organizing and helping run this seminar.
