U.S. Embassy Invites Kyrgyz Businesses to attend "Doing Business with the USA" Seminar
The U.S. Embassy extends an invitation to Kyrgyz businesspeople to attend a "Doing Business with the USA" seminar on September 10 at the Hyatt Regency in Bishkek. The seminar is designed to provide practical advice to Kyrgyz companies looking for U.S. trading partners, as well as insights into the processes involved in competing for U.S. contracts at Manas air base and in Afghanistan.
According to U.S. Department of Commerce statistics, U.S.-Kyrgyz trade more than doubled in 2006 over 2005 levels. "With such an increase in bilateral trade," U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch noted, "we feel that it is important to facilitate more business ties between Kyrgyz and U.S. firms." "I am confident," Ambassador Yovanovitch added, "that this seminar will identify the tools for more bilateral trade and open up possibilities for Kyrgyz firms to compete successfully for contracts with the U.S. government."
In addition to presentations by U.S. officials, the seminar will incorporate insights and advice from companies already operating in both the United States and the Kyrgyz Republic. The U.S. Embassy encourages businesspeople to attend, bring questions, obtain information and use the knowledge gained at the seminar to reach out to new business partners in the United States.
This seminar is intended for Kyrgyz companies and businesspeople. Participants must complete a registration form, which can be downloaded from the U.S. Embassy's website, and submit the form by September 5th via e-mail to BishkekCommerce@state.gov or via facsimile to 551-264 (to the attention of Artyom). A provisional agenda for the seminar is also located on the website.
For more information, please contact the U.S. Embassy's commercial section at 551-241 ext. 4403 or by e-mail at BishkekCommerce@state.gov.
There is no fee for attending the seminar.
