| On June 7, 2008 Amb assador Yovanovich congratulated the graduates of the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek on their accomplishments, wished them continued success in the future, and encouraged them to use the gifts they have been given in the university – knowledge, the freedoms and the responsibilities - to change thier lives and the world.

| On April 24, 2008, Ambassador Marie L. Yovanovitch participated in the opening of the Golden Collection exhibit at the Kyrgyz State Museum of History. The collection restoration was funded by the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP). This is the second time that a project was selected in Kyrgyzstan, as an 11th century Shakh-Fazil Mausoleum was restored near Safed Bulon village in Jalalabat province in 2002.

| On March 5, in honor of the International Women’s Day, Ambassador of the United States Marie Yovanovitch presented Cholpon Djakupova, a well-known human rights advocate, the U.S. Department of States’ International Woman of Courage Award, and hosted an exhibition of works and essays by female artists and students on the topic of “Realizing the Dream: Worldwide Equality for Women. |
Ambassador Highlights Archive EXBS Technical assistance | EXBS Technical assistance On November 30, 2005 the Export Control and Related Border Security Assistance (EXBS) Program of the U.S. Embassy provided $1,000,482.96USD worth of technical assistance to the State Customs Inspectorate of the Kyrgyz Republic. This technical assistance includes Refurbished Port complex, sixteen Niva jeeps, interdiction tools, computer equipment, furniture, vehicle scales, LAN for computer systems and generator. This technical assistance will be used for non-proliferation and border security efforts. |  TV Show “Kazyna” | TV Show “Kazyna”On November 24 KTR aired and interview with Ambassador Yovanovitch.
