Exchange Programs
Cochrane Fellowship Program
Since 1984, the U.S. Congress has made funds available for training agricultural specialists from middle-income countries, emerging markets, and emerging democracies. This program, established by and named after U.S. Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi, seeks to help improve agricultural trade between developing countries and the United States.
Since the Cochran Fellowship Program began, it has provided U.S.-based training for over 7,600 international participants from 70 countries worldwide.
The programs generally last from two to four weeks. They usually involve a visit to Washington, D.C. and several other American cities, depending on the participant's specific field of interest.
